2024 AAU Girls Details
Girls, grades 3-11 (as of Fall 2023)
*Third graders looking to try out, will be trying out to play 4th grade. We will NOT hold any 3rd grade teams this year.
Our Legacy Hoops West teams will be based out of our Legacy Hoops Hopkins location. If you prefer, you can sign up for our Legacy Hoops East Tryouts. These teams will play out of our Legacy Hoops East Woodbury facility if that location is more convenient for you. Our focus for all of our AAU teams is heavy skill development, college exposure/recruiting, relationship building, and having fun. We think it is important to maintain a level of competitiveness without sacrificing the core values of kids having fun in the process.
Tryouts will be $15 for each session you sign up for. All participants planning to attend tryouts must register online. You can attend as many tryouts sessions as you’d like. Each session will be paid for individually. Please know we will offer spots at EACH tryout session. We will offer spots until all teams are completely filled. We suggest being at the early tryout sessions in order to make the team you desire before spots are filled.
We ask that each player bring a reversible jersey or shirt with a number on it so we can identify each player. We will start check-ins 20 minutes prior to tryouts so we can start on time.
Parents will NOT be allowed to stay in the gym, or lobby, during tryouts.
We will ONLY make calls to players who MAKE THE TEAM. If your daughter does not make a team, you will NOT be notified. If your daughter makes a team you will be notified the day of or the following day by midnight. If you do not accept the spot within 24hrs of when the spot was offered, it will be offered to someone else. Once you accept a spot on a team, we will collect a $250 deposit the day of accepting the spot or the following day in order to hold your roster spot and make the spot official. Please be ready to make that deposit at that time. No spot is saved until the deposit is paid. All parents will make additional monthly payments to cover total balance before the first tournament.

2024 AAU Season Info:
Team Fees
For the 2023 season, fees for grades 3-11 ranged from $500-$1,350, and varied according to the number of roster spots, tournaments, out-of-state tournaments, and other factors. We do NOT pay for travel expenses for out of state tournaments or AAU cards. Uniforms will be included in the fees and will be collected at the end of the season. In order to secure your roster spot, we will collect a team deposit of $250 once a commitment is made and the remaining fees will be paid BEFORE the FIRST tournament. Half of team fees are due by January 31st. NO EXCEPTIONS! If fees are not paid, roster spots will not be protected, spots can be replaced and athletes will not be able to play. We will offer payment plans to help in any way we can, but you must communicate your financial need upon, accepting a roster spot. We will be very firm on this this upcoming season.
PLEASE NOTE: There will be NO REFUNDS once a commitment is made to accept a roster spot, including the deposit as well as other payments made towards the team fees.
Tournaments
Tournament play will begin in April. We plan to have final schedules set once we have fully evaluated teams, but no later than March 1st. There will be between 5-10 tournaments. The number of tournaments will vary by age and level of team. Teams will play locally, regionally and nationally according to age and level of the team. Tournaments can be added as the season progresses per coach and player commitment.
Our Elite teams (15U-17U) will be playing on the Elite 40 League, which is one the best leagues/circuits in the country.
Practices
Practice is the most important part to our program. Not just practice but teaching and DEVELOPMENT. We put a heavy focus on development and making sure kids are getting better and not just playing games.
The Spring/Summer AAU season practices will begin in March. Each team will practice on average two times per week. Each practice will range from 90-120 minutes unless the team coach schedules differently. Most practices will be held on weeknights, NO WEEKENDS unless coach and team decide on it. Practice locations for our legacy WEST teams will be at the Legacy Hoops Basketball Academy (Hopkins), Hopkins HS/Junior HS, and possibly other locations in the surrounding area according to how much space is needed. We plan to have the official nights of practice set no later than March 1st.
*Unless communicated with the coach, it is very important that players are committed and consistently attend practices in order to get the proper playing time, etc. This includes those playing other sports.
Honest Game
We have a unique partnership with Honest Game, which is a public benefit corporation that empowers schools and student-athletes with a plan that provides guidance on the classes, grades, and test scores they need to meet NCAA academic eligibility status. Honest Game takes our athletes transcript/test scores and translates it into a College Athletic Report on Eligibility (CARE®). CARE® serves as an extra set of eyes, tracks all your academic requirements, and ensures you are taking all the proper courses and counting towards for NCAA eligibility.
Multi Sport Athletes
We do support multi sport athletes in our program. We understand the importance of kids being well rounded athletes and kids, but we do ask for a balance with both basketball and the other sport. A commitment to basketball is required to play in our program, as we want consistency so each team can be as competitive as possible. All second sport schedules should be given ahead of time so structure the proper plan for practice attendance. There is a requirement to be at practices during the week in order to play in games. Please be sure to accept spots only if you can have a flexible balance and commitment to basketball.
